So This is It. Isn’t It?

Two very important speeches tonight.  I consider them the reward for the political junkies who have spent five months - ah, who are we kidding, the last year - enthralled by each campaign stop; each beer shooter; gutter ball and each slur thrown from the pulpit.

One of my favorite political strategists said this morning that the Democratic party meant for the campaign to be this way. I’m not sure I concur.  What I do believe is that tonight has to be about clear communication. Enough of the ambiguity already.  Enough of the “Does she or doesn’t she…. only Terry McCauliffe knows for sure…” .  If Senator Clinton is not conceding, she needs to say so clearly. And if not tonight - when? Clarity, please.

As a communications coach, I have watched this campaign with a focus on tone and technique.  All three candidates are, each in his or her own way, terrific orators. But what has raised the ire of many is how muddy the rhetoric has been. Reading between the lines; “I said this.. but I meant that..“.  There is no unity where there is complete confusion. That goes for both sides of the isle.

As a newshound, the drama is just fantastic. Watching the pundits implode has been the best sport in town.

Though I think there is a chance this could go all the way to Denver– I believe the pressure on Clinton is going to become ENORMOUS!

Lynn, I just heard an interesting theory from a pundit on FOX. If Clinton merely “suspends” her campaign– by DNC rules– she can keep all of her delegates.

Even after a concession- it leaves a dog in the hunt.

Not my theory, but interesting, huh?
