Robocalls Continue to Dial the Wrong Number

As expected, the phone rang at dinner time last night. It has been ringing every night at dinner time for the last three weeks. It’s always the same call – the annoying pre-recorded political call – lambasting the other side, whichever the other side is. The last few have been especially annoying, because they always start out with, “Hi, Barbara!!”. I’m not Barbara, I’m Lynn. No Barbara has ever lived here. But somehow, Robocaller has gone a step further and given Barbara’s information to the live people who are calling from their political hate banks phone banks. So now, three times a day, I get a call for Barbara. These fear mongers political volunteers want to tell Barbara that one candidate wants to waste her money while another wants to send her job to China. One candidate wants to bankrupt her child’s school while another wants to sit back and watch her parents die a slow and lonely death. Luckily, Barbara isn’t here, or she might be as sick of this as I am afraid to get out of bed!
“I’m sorry, I’m not Barbara.”
“Oh, is Barbara there?”
“No.”
“When will she be back?”
“She won’t.”
“Oh, then can I tell YOU how the OTHER candidate is going to waste your money, send your job to China, ruin your child and kill your parents?”
“I’ve already voted for that candidate.”
“You’re screwed. Thank you, and have a great evening!”
